Breath in...breath out...

As i sit in the chair, my fingers turning white from pressing so hard on the arms of the chain. I can hear my husband yelling in the phone calling that person a Malacca (asshole) his face turning different shades of pink till the top of his head is bright red. Ahhh... life in Greece, I know now why people don't want to come back once they move from here. Once u lived a life of certainty and know what to expect, you can't go back. I on the other hand knew what to expect, and now I'm living life of uncertainty. What was i thinking!!! You can go into a store, on Friday, to buy a certain glue that you need and expect to hear, "i can get it for you next Tuesday." When Tuesday comes, "I'll call u" and another three days go by with out anything. Never expect to find anything with out it being a whole day of searching, yelling or turning shades of red, to the point that u look like u might have a stroke. After a while you shake your head and have to laugh. The thing is i should of known the first six months i lived here that it was going to a challenge.

When i moved here i had three months to stay, before i had to leave, or get married. We were trying to get things set for getting married. Week after week of going to the town hall, being told, u need this paper, u need that paper the next week. Instead of telling us everything at once what we needed, we had to run back and forth for weeks, till i couldn't stay anymore. So there is a way i could extend my stay. I needed to get extension from the police. Go to the police, u need a bank account first. No problem!!! Go to the bank, they say i need extension form from the police. WHAT??? Wait a minute!! I can't get extension form till i have a bank account, can't get a bank account till i have an extension form???? Say what???? I shake my head thinking this can't be real right??? After going to five banks we finally found one who would let me open account. That is when i should of known i would be turning gray before my time. So let me tell you about yesterday.

I had ordered business cards from vista in the states. In April, that batch got lost. So they sent me another batch. I didn't know they were sent with a Currier. After two weeks of nothing i look on the GLS site to track my package. There in the Netherlands, and it says my address is wrong, zip code is unknown. Some how it did get over here to Greece, with another Currier. Now the trouble is i kept seeing on the site, it was being stored for wrong address. I checked, husband checked, everything was right. I e-mailed them three times with no answer back, and there was no phone number to call. Yesterday i look on the site again and they said it's being sent back to the states. My husband found a number to the Currier here in Greece. They said it was being sent back cause i didn't live here. Excuse me???? My ADDRESS is on the box, my PHONE number is on the box, and i don't live here??? They were only looking at the name on the front of the building. Only my husbands was on it so instead of C A L L I N G (hmmm...what an idea???) or going by the A D D R E S S like normal people would do. They decided to send it back. The kicker is the Currier is three blocks up the street from here!!!! So there is my husband turning red and yelling at the people on the phone for being stupid. He always says to me "do u think anybody knows what there doing here?" I'm like.....YEAHHHHH...it's there JOBBBBB, there suppose to know what there doing. I'm surprised, yet not so surprise. That's sad.

My husband came home today and said "if there was a way to make money from all the stupid people living here, Greece would be rich" and that is coming from a Greek. But then again his job is figuring out the economy, and when there tracking small businesses month after month and the businesses are asked "how is your business going, and what are u going to do to change it?" He actually gets answers of, business is very bad, I'm going to lay off people and raise my prices....huh???? Lets think about this, business is slow, could it be prices, are to high, and people don't have the money to spend? Sooooo we are going to lay off people, and RAISE our prices cause... then people will buy???? Seriously, i can't make this stuff up, this is for real!!!

I've said it before, i love this quote "It's a shame that stupidity can't be converted into a usable energy source."

So for now till we can move. I breath in....breath out...breath in....breath out........
