My crazy pets!!

Today i will talk about my pets. I have two sets. The ones in the house and my street pets. Today I'll talk about the house pets. Lately I've been thinking how much they make me laugh. I've always been an animal lover and brought up the girls to be as well. I believe it's important for children to learn to respect other living animals. There not here to be abused, but to learn how to care, have passion and teach us how to share in our world together. With out my pets i would be in a dark place, that i don't want to feel anymore, specially this time of the yr, which can get bad. In times when I'm lonely and homesick...yes i still after four yrs living here get homesick, i can turn to the pets and watch them, for i know they will make me laugh sometime during the day. So as i was thinking the best way for anybody to understand how they can make a person smile or laugh, I'll explain there personalities if they were human.

Shelia, my wonderful happy dog that even at the age of 12 still wants to play all the time Frisbee or ball. She's one of the smartest breed but when she manages to wrap herself around a tree with her leash and looks at me for help. I wonder if she was out the day they were handing out the brains. But she makes me laugh and is always happy to see me, as well as love me unconditional. As most dogs are known for. Then comes the cats with each one having there own behaviour. Cleo if she was in high school would be that stuck up prom/cheerleader/beautiful girl, who sees her self as better then anybody else. Tony is my shy geek. He's smart but keeps away from getting into fights with the others. He likes to watch, unless there is an unusual day when he feels like chasing Cleo. Don't get me wrong he's shy but, somehow manages to teach the others how to pester me at night. I'll get into that in a little bit. Zoe would best be described as one who loves sports. She's always running either playing soccer, or slapping around her mouse. She takes quick naps a few bits and than she is back to playing. Than there is my "eye of God" Jack, best described as the kid who the teacher would grab by the ear and drag to a corner or mom slapping him behind the head cause he's pain in the ass, for always getting into trouble. So now that u understand what i mean by personalities, let me tell u what a circus one day here can be like.

There's a reason why i go to bed by 10 at the latest. I don't work, so i could stay up late like most people in this culture do. But, i know somebody will be waking me up between 2-3 am to eat. Most of the time it's Tony, but there has been other times he sits on the floor watching while he sends somebody else to wake me. If he does him self he likes to rattle things on my make up table, but since I've moved them, he sits on my side table, and chew on my lamp or start biting my book. If that doesn't work he'll start knocking things off the table. Now if it's Cleo she likes to scratch on the screen door, Jack, I'll wake up to him licking or chewing on my hair which he has given me a bald spot on the side of my head. All the while Tony is sitting on the side watching. Zoe is the only one who leaves me alone. The thing i don't understand is most of the time he has food. He just wants somebody to come out there with him. He's a big baby, and my husband has turned on a night light for him, "u know so he can see what he is eating." Excuse me???? He's a cat they see in the dark!!! Of course he's a sound sleeper and never hears anybody. For somebody who never had any animals in his life he sure spoils them, even more than i do. So i go out to walk Tony to his bowl and make sure everybody has food. So while I'm up anyways I'll go to the bathroom before going back to bed. Now i know others will understand me when i say there is something about anybody going into the bathroom and closing the door that animals hate. It's not unusual to come out and have everybody standing around the door waiting for me. That's if there not scratching and banging on the door for me to let them in. "mom, what are u doing? ...mom let me in....mooooommmm" that will either be Zoe, Tony. or Jack. When I'm home alone i don't even bother closing the door anymore, whats the point there is no privacy anyways. Now after going to bed, I'll get up at 5:30 to walk Shelia and feed the street pets. Best time, very few cars out, so everybody is out waiting for me. Shelia is like a magnet, after the cats realise she is a softy, they all come out and run around her legs and rub up against her. There is also one who like to run up to her and slap her, i think he just is showing off to the others..."hey look what i can do..i can slap the dog" I'm not sure there is to many others that will let them selves get slapped, most times u see the dogs chasing the cats up the trees. Once that has been started with the slapping a few others have joined in as well...poor Shelia I'm always getting these looks..."MOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM lets go lets goooo" there has been a time or two when she nipped at the brat. That only lasts a few days and he's back to it again. Every once in a while there will be a couple that will follow us home. Besides the four that usual hangs out in front of building, peeking in the window now and than. Bring Jack and Zoe to the window telling them they could live with us too. Jack is forward talking to somebody if not in the front, then on the back wall. " Jack please we have no more room." That doesn't seem to stop him from talking to them anyways.

Once we get home everybody is standing around waiting to eat. I feed them, get the coffee started and already Zoe and Jack are complaining at the back door to go out and go hunting for lizards or at this time of the yr moths. After about half hour there running around my legs complaining "mom i want the ball. mom i want the mouse, can't find the mouse mom." There smart enough to know that i have them in my drawn. or there under the couch and they will sit and wait for them. Than like good little kids they go out to play. While Shelia starts bring me her ball to play. Tony and Cleo sit outside or go back to bed. It' the same thing everyday in the morning. The rest of the day will be spent with Zoe running around after the mouse, Jack after the ball or cleaning up everybody's food bowl, which brings Tony to me who starts to chew on boxes, tape anything to get my attention that he's starving to death, cause Jack ate everything again. Cleo will just sit on the side lines watching the circus as Jack takes off after Zoe, and Shelia starts running after both of them. That will go on for a good hour of rolling, running, chasing, tossing the mouse around, beating it up and when there all done they go take a nap. Couple months ago, i seen Tony and Cleo sitting around the water bowl. When i looked miss Cleo the princess, started whining "mooooommmm look what that stupid girl did there is a mouse floating in my bowl, how am i to drink this...yuck!!!" That's another usual thing here, she likes to take her mouse or a ball and wash it in the water. Sometimes she takes it out like last night when she was done she put it in my lap all wet. My husband just laughs and tells me "the mouse was thirsty, or it needed a bath" she hides them too. Like under the blankets or pillow, in the leg of the couch, never know how she did that. I even found one buried in the litter box. Couple weeks ago, i was cleaning and moving around stuff. There behind my art suitcase was a nest made of mice and sparkle balls. We had been wondering for the last month where all the mice and balls were. It's a riot here and they make u laugh.

Now Jack is a hoot. When we sit down to dinner he casually happens to rub him self around your legs while your eating. Just to let us know he's there. Than he sits on the shelf at eye level watching till were done. Somethings u will catch him laying on his side watching with his one eye to see if your looking. If u are he rolls over and pretends he's starving and needs food, or jumps down and throws himself on the floor like he's weak from not eating. He's such a drama queen. If there isn't anything he can eat I'll cut up a slice of lunch meat and give it to all five. Which drives Jack crazy. I'll give him and Zoe a piece and I'll go look for Tony and Cleo in the bedroom. Of course he is running, skipping, hopping down the hall, just about tripping me in the process. (this happens every night) and I'll start to laugh cause he's so funny the way he runs sometimes it looks like his ass is getting ahead of the rest of him. Cleo is always in her basket while Tony is under the bed. Now trying to give Tony his pieces while Jack is around is near impossible, so i usually pretend that I'm going to give him a piece (jack) and show him by the outside door and than close it quick before he comes back in. That only lasts a min or two cause he knows he can come in from the other back door. So while Tony is trying to eat there is Jack bouncing around on the bed "I'm here mom, I'm here, I'm here...seee I'm here...please, please, please." most of the time i have to chase him out of the room so the other two can eat. I also started closing the bedroom door after i toss jack out in the yard. So now he sits there with his one eye pressed up against the window yelling..."i see what your doing mom...that's not fair...let me in...let me in, I'm starvingggggg!" like i said drama queen. Another thing he is funny with his everybody gets a treat at night and like there a clock between 7-7:45 Cleo will come out and sit in front of me, one by one they will each come out and sit looking at me. "ahhh ..I'm here, what u waiting for" Of course that is miss Cleo. On special times i will open one small can and split between the four. Cleo, Tony, Zoe all gets to eat there's on a glass dish. Jack has to eat his on a plastic cover on the floor. Reason being he eats so fast he likes to sit in front of the others while they eat. So on a plastic lid on the tile floor while he eats it slides around the room so it takes him longer, and everybody can finish before him. It did work for a few months. He would go walking around the whole house sliding his lid. But now he wised up and puts his foot on the lid. Dam it was working. After there all done they all head off to bed.

So that's just been a few things that happen around here, and like i said it makes me laugh. Who said animals Don't have personalities, has never had one as a pet.
